EPIC Series - San Diego 2015

EPIC Series is the first ever functional fitness obstacle course, and it's followed up by an awesome post party with gear tents, live music, and lots of food where all of our EPIC athletes can bond over their mutual achievement. We've crafted a course with more than a dozen serious fitness challenges, plus cardio and plyometric routines, that will push people to their limits. Do you have what it takes to be EPIC? epic race challenge

Think you have what it takes to be in the EPIC ELITE? First you must complete the EPIC Race with no scaling or modifying allowed. After you complete you EPIC Race you will compete at your assigned time in the ELITE DIVISION: a combination of timed obstacles geared towards the most EPIC of Athletes.

The ELITE Series will begin with a Tractor Pull with a time cap of 60 – 90 seconds. All competitors will begin with the same pull regardless of division. From here, competitors will go to their designated zone and complete the obstacles.

elite endurance

The ENDURANCE athletes will face a lighter ELITE division which demands higher endurance in the form of extra repeated repetitions. These competitors will be expected to be able to lift the following weights:

deadlift (male: 225lb, female: 165lb)

push press (male: 115lb, female: 80lb)

lunge (male: 115lb, female: 80lb)

atlas stone (male: 115lb, female: 95lb)

Along with these expectations will be a series of other obstacles that range in difficulty.

elite strength

The STRENGTH athletes will face a heavier ELITE division which demands higher strength in the form of heavier obstacles. These competitors will be expected to be able to lift the following weights:

deadlift (male: 315, female: 225lb)

push press (male: 145lb, female: 115lb)

lunge (male: 145lb, female: 115lb)

atlas stone (male: 135lb, female: 115lb)

Along with these expectations will be a series of other obstacles that range in difficulty.

Note: Because these two races are independent of one another, it is possible to win both divisions at the same event.

pertinent information

The EPIC DIVISIONS score is based off of the combined EPIC Race and ELITE Challenge times. The winner will be decided by the competitor with the lowest combined regular race and ELITE race time.

Each obstacle will have a time cap and will be strictly enforced.
